5v5 flag football plays

Updated · 1 min read

Every play here is legal under NFL FLAG rules: no blocking, no picks, the QB never runs. Numbers on the diagram are the QB's read order. Tap a play for routes, reads and when to call it.

How to build a 5v5 playbook

  1. Start with 5 or 6 plays, not 20: two quick passes, one vs zone, one deep shot, one red-zone play, one run.
  2. Teach the read order. The QB looks at 1, then 2, then 3. Most youth interceptions come from staring at one receiver.
  3. Mirror them. Every play can be run left or right; that's two plays for the price of one.
  4. Have a no-run-zone plan. Near midfield and the goal line you must pass: tag those plays.
  5. Print a wristband so you can call plays by number.
