5v5 play · Spread
Corner Fade
Near the goal line you must pass. The fades stretch the end zone; the slant and spot are the quick answers underneath.
Routes
- CSpot
Five yards, then a short angle inside and sit in the gap.
- XFade
Go, but drift toward the sideline so the ball lands where only you can get it.
- YSlant
Two steps up, then a sharp angle inside. Win in the first second.
- ZFade
Go, but drift toward the sideline so the ball lands where only you can get it.
- QRead
Read Y → C → X. Throw as she breaks open.
The QB's read, step by step
- Y on the slant. Look here first, right from the snap.
- C on the spot. Covered? Move your eyes here next.
- X on the fade. The last look. Get the ball out before the 7 seconds run out.
Coaching points
- Line up in Spread: two wide receivers near the sidelines, the slot inside, the center over the ball.
- Every route at the same depth on every snap, so the QB can throw on time.
- No picks: receivers cross near each other, never into a defender on purpose.
- Run it to both sides: mirror it and it's two plays.
When to call it
Inside the no-run zones you must pass: this is built for them. Mirror it to attack the other side.
