The 7-Second Clock

Setup

A QB, two receivers, two defenders, one rusher 7 yards back. You need: Footballs, cones, a stopwatch.

How it runs

1. Coach counts the 7 seconds out loud.
2. Receivers run any two routes; defenders play man.
3. The QB must throw before "seven", or the play is dead.
4. Rotate every three plays.

Coach it

• Decide by four: the best throws come early.
• Find the open player, not the best friend.
• Eyes downfield, not on the rusher.
